Steve Pavis BSc Hons Sports Science; Dip Pilates; CFST Level 2
Steve is co-founder of SMP Pilates
After completing a Sports Science degree in 2002, Steve worked as a Personal Trainer before finding Pilates and specialising in rehab and sports training. Having worked in the Pilates industry for over 10 years, Steve has trained with some of the most respected mentors from around the world, and contunues to develop SMP's own brand of Pilates.
Not content with following the pack, and simply providing a Pilates service that is just 'OK', Steve integrates some of the most cutting edge techniques into his teaching, most notitably Tom Myers 'Anatomy Trains' concept and Ann and Chris Frederik's 'Stretch to Win' system.
In December 2011, Steve travelled to Phoenix, Arizona to complete the level 2 qualification in 'Fascial Stretch Therapy™' (FST™). Steve is at present the highest qualified practitioner in FST in the country.

Harriet Cann
Harriet is co-founder of SMP Pilates
Having used corrective exercise to regain her health & fitness following a serious injury she was only to aware of the need for a professional injury rehabilitation & specific corrective exercise studio tailored to the individual to be created.
In 2002 she qualified as a personal trainer & sports massage therapist with Premier International & as a yoga teacher with Mind Body Studios.
She worked with a vast range of clients to help achieve their goals of fitness, weight loss & flexibility.
A Diploma in Pilates matwork & equipment was the next step – fuelled by her desire for a deeper knowledge of how the body moves & how to help it when things go wrong.
Her aim is to assist clients with the knowledge & exercise plans to help look after their body to the highest level, to be aware of what their body needs & to make all movements a simple joy.

Kate Williams
Kate has worked within the fitness industry for over 5 years as a YMCA Qualified Personal Trainer and Padbox Instructor.
Always seeking new skills and knowledge she proceeded to gain her Futurefit Diploma in Pilates instruction and shares the SMP passion for Pilates. She believes that exercise can be accessible to all abilities and ages, that it should be fun, effective and informative.
Taking special care to structure her classes and one to one sessions to accommodate the needs of individuals.


Howard Pike
Howard holds a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma and has been teaching yoga for over six years. he has a background in many different sports from Squash and Racketball to Martial Arts, Rugby, American Football, Archery and Cycling, giving him a good idea of what challenges his students may experience when attending a yoga class. This helps him to deal with all levels of ability and the specific needs of his students.
